Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water systems, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
